she was supposed to kill him. he was supposed to be dead. neither of those things happened. years later, they're forced back into each other's orbit with more questions than answers and enough shared history to make every interaction feel loaded. the romance is great, the tension is even better, and the mystery of what really happened all those years ago kept me turning pages. easily one of my favorites in the kings of blackwater series.
