verdict

a haunted mansion, deadly trials, a missing sister, and a mysterious man who keeps making himself impossible to ignore? say less. phantasma delivers gothic atmosphere, adventure, romance, and just enough danger to keep you turning pages. the tension between them is what really sells the story for me, and while the spice stays fairly light, the chemistry absolutely does not.

vibe

phantasma is one of those books that's just plain fun.
it's spooky without being horror. gothic without taking itself too seriously. romantic without forgetting there's an actual plot happening. the entire thing feels like wandering through a haunted house where every door could either lead to treasure or get you killed.
and honestly? i had a great time.
when her sister disappears, she enters a deadly competition inside a haunted mansion to get her back. the problem is surviving long enough to do it. the even bigger problem is the charming stranger who keeps appearing when she least expects him.

spice

🌶🌶 — this is much more about tension than explicit spice. the chemistry is built through lingering looks, dangerous bargains, and wanting someone you absolutely shouldn't trust.

reader fit

read this if

you love paranormal romance, gothic vibes, magical competitions, haunted mansions, and morally gray men who are way too charming for their own good. if you like romance with adventure and a little danger mixed in, this is such a fun read.

skip this if

you're looking for a super dark paranormal romance or a book that's primarily focused on spice. the romance is important, but the adventure and mystery are equally part of the experience.

content warnings

violence, death games, supernatural creatures, grief, and darker fantasy themes. always check the author's trigger warnings before reading.

standalone + hea

book one in the wicked games series and it does have a happy ending. the second book follows her sister's story, but i'd absolutely start with phantasma first. you'll get the full experience of the world and characters this way.
