don’t judge this series by book one.
trust tahereh mafi.
she’s playing the long game.
you think you know who the villain is.
you think you know who you’re supposed to root for.
you don’t.
watching everything slowly unravel over the series is one of my favorite reading experiences i’ve ever had.

the romance isn’t built around spice.
it’s built around longing, trust, and one of the best enemies to lovers arcs i’ve ever read.
and honestly?
i never missed the spice.

it isn’t just enemies to lovers.
it’s watching everything you thought you knew slowly fall apart.
and i would give anything to experience that for the first time again.
