To Bleed a Crystal Bloom review — Sarah A. Parker (spice level, tropes & is it worth it)
it’s giving rapunzel…
but make it unhinged.
to bleed a crystal bloom by sarah a. parker completely confused me.
compliment.
this is book one in the crystal bloom series. captor x captive, fated mates, true slow burn, and one of the most mysterious romantasy series i’ve ever picked up. i spent half the book thinking, what the fuck is going on?
and somehow… i couldn’t stop reading.
is to bleed a crystal bloom worth it?
depends on you, but i would say yes.
but only if you’re okay not having all the answers.
this isn’t the kind of romantasy that explains everything straight away. it expects you to sit in the mystery. (which can be annoying sometimes tbh.) anyways back to the book…
orlaith is incredibly naive.
rhordyn knows far more than he’s willing to tell her.
and that imbalance had me constantly trying to figure out what was actually happening.
did i understand everything?
absolutely not.
did i immediately pick up book two?
obviously.

there’s barely any spice.
and somehow it still feels spicy. you know what i mean? when the tension is so tight a look, a brush of the hands has you
screaming.

- fated mates
- true slow burn
- forced proximity
- rapunzel retelling vibes
what to read after to bleed a crystal bloom
if you loved the captor x captive dynamic, between tides & thunder should be next.
if it was the mystery and morally gray mmc that completely hooked you, pick up runebreaker.
and if you’re looking for another romantasy that keeps you guessing from beginning to end, we who will die deserves a spot on your tbr.

favorite quote
“I’m in love with a man who’ll never be mine—who’s unavailable in every way, shape, and form—and I’m certain it’s going to ruin me.”
fictional boyfriend material?
rhordyn is the kind of man who knows everything…
and refuses to explain any of it.
fucking annoying but somehow only made me want answers more.

- Chapter Twenty-Three
final thoughts
this series isn’t perfect.
and honestly?
i don’t think it needs to be.
i almost need more people to read it just so we can all sit in a room together and ask…
what the fuck just happened?
because that’s exactly how i felt when i finished.
and somehow…
i immediately reached for book two.
want more like this? say less.
the full romance library is waiting.
