tropes in this book
verdict
is this book a little unhinged? yes. did i absolutely devour it anyway? also yes. malachi vize had me glued to the pages from start to finish, and by the time that cliffhanger hit, i was already reaching for book two. sometimes you read a book because it's profound. sometimes you read a book because it's addictive as hell. this one falls firmly into the second category.
vibe
look.
i'm not going to sit here and pretend this book is educational.
it's taboo, messy, completely addictive, and one of those books where you know you should probably look away... but you absolutely do not. if you're here for morally questionable decisions, emotional chaos, and enough tension to make you uncomfortable in the best way, welcome.

reader fit
you enjoy taboo romance, emotionally messy characters, forbidden relationships, obsession, and books that push boundaries. if you're the kind of reader who likes stories that leave you repeatedly saying "this is a terrible idea" while turning the page anyway, you'll probably eat this up.
taboo relationships aren't your thing or you want a romance that stays comfortably within the lines. this book knows exactly what it is and never pretends otherwise.
content warnings
please check trigger warnings before reading. taboo relationship themes, incarceration, trauma, manipulation, emotional distress, and numerous dark romance elements are present throughout the story.
standalone + hea
book one in the web of silence duet. this book ends on a cliffhanger, and trust me, you're going to want book two immediately afterward.
