Windy City series reading order – Liz Tomforde (all 5 books)

Published Updated

if you’ve spent more than five minutes in the romance corner of the internet, you’ve probably seen someone screaming about ryan shay.

or kai rhodes.

or isaiah rhodes.

or maybe all three.

the windy city series has become one of the most recommended sports romance series for a reason.

the problem?

everyone has a different favorite.

some readers swear the right move is the best sports romance ever written.

others will fight for caught up.

and if you ask ten readers where to start, you’ll probably get five different answers.

so let’s make this easy.

here’s the complete windy city reading order, what sport each book follows, and which one you should start with based on your vibe.

what makes the windy city series so addictive?

honestly?

it’s the characters.

yes, the romance is good.

yes, the sports are actually woven into the story.

yes, the tension is tensioning.

but what liz tomforde does really well is make every couple feel completely different.

you don’t finish one book and feel like you’re reading the same relationship with different names.

every couple has their own thing.

their own chemistry.

their own emotional conundrum.

and because the characters keep showing up throughout the series, the whole world starts feeling like one giant friend group you never want to leave.

what you’ll find in this guide

  • the complete reading order
  • spice levels for every book
  • what sport each book follows
  • which books are worth prioritizing if you’re not planning to read all five

my take

look.

if you ask ten readers which windy city book is the best, you’ll get ten different answers.

mine?

the right move and caught up.

ryan shay is one of my favorite sports romance mmcs ever written, and kai rhodes is living proof that single dad romances have no business being that good.

but here’s my biggest piece of advice:

if mile high doesn’t completely blow you away, keep going.

a lot of readers don’t find their favorite windy city book until book two or three.

the books

fair warning: you’re probably going to finish this series with a favorite rhodes brother, a favorite book boyfriend, and a sudden interest in professional sports. i don’t make the rules.

1. mile high

the one that started it all.

if you love hockey romances, forced proximity, and a mmc who slowly realizes he’s completely screwed, start here.

five in the main series — mile high, the right move, caught up, play along, and rewind it back. in her own league is a standalone spinoff set in the same world.
