verdict

she's forced into a marriage she never wanted. he's the one-eyed killer nobody wants to cross. on paper, this relationship should be a disaster. and honestly? it kind of is. but somewhere between the secrets, trauma, and mutual destruction, they begin seeing each other more clearly than anyone else ever has. twisted, emotional, and impossible to put down, this was the perfect introduction to the society of villains series for me.

vibe

this book is dark. like, genuinely dark.
mafia romance, forced marriage, serial killer energy, trauma, secrets... if you're looking for wholesome, you've taken a very wrong turn.
what i loved most about this one is that neither character is what they first appear to be. everyone around her treats her like she's broken because she's deaf. she's not. she's survived things that would break most people, and she's a lot stronger than everyone gives her credit for.
and him?
well... he's literally known as the psycho killer, so make of that what you will.
