Getaway by bazookah Wattpad review: is it worth reading?

i think i just met my fictional husband.

getaway by bazookah somehow took everything i loved about runaway and made me even more obsessed.

mafia romance.

real enemies to lovers.

arranged marriage.

and enough genuine hatred to make you wonder how these two are ever supposed to fall in love.

is getaway worth it?

without hesitation.

i already thought runaway was incredible.

then i read THIS.

adrik and celina don’t secretly like each other. they don’t spend one chapter arguing before suddenly falling into bed. they genuinely cannot stand each other. and getting me from that… to believing they belong together?

well. it happened.

(and tbh if you love a man who is unfeeling, emotionless, rich, and hot? you’re in the right place babe.)

🖤 captor x captive🖤 mafia romance🖤 marriage of convenience

celina is taken by adrik because he believes she is his sister. she keeps trying to escape until she discovers that her father has an entire other family. suddenly, escaping is not enough. she wants retaliation. her solution? marry adrik. he’s unfeeling, hates being touched, and wants nothing to do with attachment. unfortunately for him, celina gets under his skin in every possible way.

spice rating: 4/5

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

there is something about spicy scenes when they hate each other.

i don’t make the rules.

the tension is ridiculous. the chemistry is ridiculous. and every scene somehow made me want to keep reading.

final thoughts

there’s a fine line between love and hate.

getaway lives on it.

this book reminded me why i love enemies to lovers so much.

not fake enemies.

not “they argued once.”

real hate. (honestly this book hardened my standards on what gets away with “enemies to lovers” moving forward.)

this book needs to be published and live in bookstores immediately. the plot, the smut, the intrigue, it had a hold on me books don’t typically have. now i know you only see books i love, because i don’t have time to talk about the ones i don’t, but this one?

one of the top 3 mafia romance book out there, and it’s unpublished?

criminal.

what to read after getaway

if you haven’t already, go read runaway.

nico and adrik are very different men, but bazookah somehow made me obsessed with both.

if you’re looking for another mafia romance with incredible tension, handsome devil is probably the closest recommendation i have.

and if you’re after another mafia romance with yearning that’ll ruin your standards, phantom mine belongs on your tbr.
